Wine is nothing but a mixture of wild species of grapes, rice and different types of yeasts without the use of sugar, enzymes or any lactic acids. The word "wine" is a Latin word derived from indo-European countries.

Cultivation of wines was started in North East areas at around 3000 BC. Cultivation of red and white wine, as we know them today, first started in Egypt, but wide-scale cultivation of wines began in Rome, which produced the best quality wine. They produced different flavors of wine.

Dry wine is one of the most popular types of wines. During fermentation, when sugar is converted into alcohol, the toxic alcohol kills the yeast and the resulting wine is called as dry wine. Wines are mainly produced from the grape species known as Vitis vinifera.

There exist different types of wines like red wine, white wine etc. They are distinguished on the amount of sugar used and the time required for fermentation.

A few types of wines are listed below:
1) Vintage wines: In order to produce a vintage wine it is a must that at least 95% of the volume of grapes used, are produced in a single year. They are mostly produced in USA.
2) Non vintage wines: They are produced from vintage wines itself. In these, at least 50% of the grapes used should have been produced in the same year.
3) Organic wines: Organic wines are produced from grapes without the use of fertilizers and pesticides. They do not contain any harmful material and are used to cure a number of diseases.
4) Red wines: They are produced from black grapes and are red in color. It prevents cancer and heart diseases because of its anti-inflammatory properties.
5) White wine: They are produced from white grapes; and they are pale yellow in color.
When alcohol is added in a wine it is called as fortified wine. Taste of wines depends on the drinker's palate.

Vintage wines are costliest of all wines. They can cost thousands of dollars per bottle.
Some of the most expensive wines are Bordeaux and Cult wines.

Production:
France is the largest producer of wines. Italy is the second largest producer.
Italy is the largest exporter of wines.

Uses: Wine is the most popular beverage, and can also be used as a flavoring agent.
Wines also have a good effect on cardiovascular problems. Wines can also used for religious and ritual purposes.

Let us look at the acne myth. There have been two scientific studies devoted to this subject, one at the University of Pennsylvania and one at the US Naval Academy. Both studies concluded that ingesting chocolate had no effect on acne. There have also been other studies which have found that there is no relationship between diet and acne.
Studies have also been done on the effect of chocolate on tooth decay. While chocolate does contain sugar, the Eastman Dental Center found that chocolate contains certain phosphates and other minerals which minimize the effect of the sugar. Therefore chocolate is one of the least likely desserts to cause cavities. Another study at Osaka University in Japan stated that there are antibacterial agents in cacoa that actually counteract tooth decay.
Then what are the health benefits that can be derived from chocolate? Chocolate contains flavonoids, powerful antioxidants, stearic acid, phenylethylamine, theobromine plus many essential minerals such as magnesium and iron.
Flavanoids or phenolic phytochemicals are compounds present in plant foods which have been recognized as having health benefits. In humans they have been found to fight against cancer and heart disease. They exist in a wide variety of foods and beverages such as apples, peanuts, onions, cranberries, red wine, and tea. However, according to Dr. Phillip Drew Minton who has written a book about the health benefits of chocolate, some saturated fat is necessary in diet as saturated fats provide protection against skin cancer and unsaturated fats do not do this.
So, although one can eat chocolate now without guilt, you must eat it properly to derive the maximum health benefits. Dark chocolate is more beneficial than milk chocolate. The chocolate should be high quality to have a high cacao content. It should also be pure chocolate not combined with marshmallow, caramel, nougat and other unhealthy substances. And like all foods, moderation is the key. Don't gorge the entire box but restrict yourself to no more than 3.5 ounces per day.

Notebook vendors flock to Indonesia

If you wonder why I have been reviewing so many notebooks lately, it's because notebook vendors have been upbeat about the Indonesian market and aggressive in promoting their products here.

Their highly positive outlook conforms to International Data Corporation (IDC)'s report I received last week. The IDC says that the shipment of PC microchips reached record levels in the second quarter of 2008. Intel drove the growth with a market share of almost 80 percent. The company particularly dominated the mobile PC processor segment by achieving a market share of 86.5 percent.

Desktop computers are still selling well in the country, but notebooks are now becoming the first choice thanks to lower prices. As quoted by Bisnis Indonesia on Aug 21, Intel's country manager for Indonesia Budi Wahyu Jati said that in Indonesia the sales of notebooks had already surpassed the sales of desktop PCs.

Vendor enthusiasm is also seen in the amount of ads placed in major local newspapers. Take a look at any Indonesian newspaper and you will see notebook product advertisements from various vendors.

These days, it is also far easier for me to get a demo unit than it was before. In a lot of cases, I don't even have to request a loan of the demo unit, as the vendors themselves offer me the opportunity to review their products for two to three weeks.

In fact, I sometimes have to politely decline offers because the models they are about to let me try out are too ordinary or have too many weaknesses.

Further proof of the PC vendors' strong confidence in the Indonesian market is perhaps the scale of their presence in the country. Lenovo and Dell are just two among the newcomers in Indonesia, while the incumbents include companies such as Acer, Asus, Fujitsu, HP, NEC, Sony and Toshiba.

Up to a few years ago, CPU makers -- especially Intel and AMD -- were obsessed by speed. The faster their processor, the more they could say to strike a blow against their competitors.

However, faster clock speed required more electricity and generated more heat. Because the machines were hotter, more cooling was necessary. Cooling also consumed a lot of energy.

Now, with Green becoming the color of the technology everywhere, chipmakers have shifted their attention to making processors perform better while consuming less electricity. This is even more relevant to mobile computers.

To begin with, nobody likes a notebook that becomes as hot as a toaster after it has been used for a while. On the other hand, energy-efficient components will reduce power consumption and prolong battery life, which is a very important consideration for any mobile worker.

Intel, which makes the processors inside the majority of computers in the world, announced last week the latest platform for mobile computers: Centrino 2.

Intel is very good at creating marketing confusion, as there is also Centrino Duo. It is no surprise that many of us prefer to call Intel's technologies by their codenames. The new platform is called "Montevina".

The power consumption of the new Centrino 2 family of processors has been reduced from 35 watts to 25 watts. The amount of L2 cache memory in some processors has also been raised to 3 and 6 MB, which means computers can now have more space for data to move at a faster speed.

With the proliferation of High Definition content, Intel has also designed Centrino 2 to include HD encoding capability. Another new feature is the possibility to switch graphics engines. Then, while the original Centrino supports the IEEE 802.11 a/b/g wireless connection, the Centrino 2 has a native support for the n standard.

When this new standard is adopted here in Indonesia, the speed of data will reach up to 450 megabits per second (Mbps). Support for WiMAX is also included.

The new processors come with or without the vPro management and configuration features that used to be available only on desktop computers. Company-provided notebooks can take advantage of the Centrino 2 with vPro processors; home users will not need it.

The processors themselves are made using 45-nanometer (nm) technology. Again, to go Green, Intel claims that it does not use helium in the production process.

Clock speeds range from 2.26 GHz to 2.8 GHz. For true speed buffs, there is the Intel Core 2 Extreme with a clock speed of 3.06 GHz.

In around three months, the first quad core processor for the notebook will be available. Of course, these high-speed processors may not fit into the ultra-slim and lightweight notebooks. They are more likely to be used to drive large notebooks such as the 18.4-inch Acer Aspire Gemstone Blue.

Finally, the Beijing Olympic Games have come to a superb end.

Looking back on the Games' preparation, such a great success holding the world's top sporting event seemed unlikely.

The worldwide torch relay faced numerous rallies calling for a boycott of the Games in light of human rights abuses in Tibet. Its readiness as the host was also heavily questioned by the international media over issues ranging from air pollution to food safety.

Bernann McKinney says he beloved pit bull "Booger" saved her life when another dog attacked her, then learned to push her wheelchair while she recovered from a severe hand injury and nerve damage.

He died in 2006, but now he's back - at least in clone form, after the birth last week of puppies replicated by a South Korea company.

"Yes, I know you! You know me too!" McKinney cried joyfully Tuesday, hugging the puppy clones as they slept with one of their two surrogate mothers, both Korean mixed breed dogs, in a Seoul
laboratory. "It's a miracle."

The five clones were created by Seoul-based RNL Bio in cooperation with a team of Seoul National University scientists who in 2005 created the world's first cloned dog, a male Afghan hound named Snuppy.

It is headed by Lee Byeong-chun, a former colleague of disgraced scientist Hwang Woo-suk, whose purported breakthroughs in stem cell research were revealed as fake. Independent tests, however, proved the team's dog cloning was genuine.

Lee's team has since cloned some 30 dogs and five wolves, but claims Booger's clones, for which McKinney paid $50,000, are the first successful commercial cloning of a canine.

The procedure, which costs up to $150,000, is drawing criticism from animal rights groups which oppose cloning pets. They say it can lead to malformed offspring and exploitation of surrogates and egg donors, as well as unfounded claims that the new animal is an exact copy of the original.

"It's fraught with animal welfare concerns and it does not bring back a loved o," said Martin Stephens, vice president for animal research issues at The Humane Society of The United
States, based in Washington.

"A dead animal's DNA does not guarantee the offspring will be identical to the deceased. It takes more than just genes to create an animal," said Stephens, who is a biologist.

He said the cloning process also subjects hundreds of dogs and cats to invasive procedures as egg donors and surrogates. According to a report released by The Humane Society in May, 3,656 cloned embryos, 319 egg donors and 214 surrogates were used to produce just five cloned dogs and 11 cloned cats who were able to survive 30 days past birth.

There are millions of homeless dogs and cats in the U.S., Stephens said, and "we don't need new sources to compete with animal shelters and reputable breeders."................

Manta Rays

After breakfast, we set out on another diving trip amid rather strong winds. The waves were quite high with a strong enough current following the night-to-dawn downpour in the area.

We arrived at Manta Point after more than an hour to start the third day. Two speedboats had arrived earlier, one of which carried Miss Universe 2006 runner-up Kurara Chibana.

As we shifted our gaze from the beauty queen of Japanese origin to the ripples left on the surface of the water by tiny jumping fish, a small dark fin was seen emerging and moving around, followed by several other fins.

"Manta... Manta!" yelled Saka. I also hurried to the water with my snorkel along with the other divers to approach the manta rays.

I got overexcited seizing the opportunity for a close glance. Five mantas were swimming down there, tussling for plankton with numerous gold-banded fusiliers.

The mantas were scattered all over, which made it difficult for us to swim closer to them. So we had to find out where they were heading and screamed at each other when any of us noticed their positions.

My great desire to snap mantas at close quarters separated me from my peers. I kept praying while trying to find the right strategy to approach them and photograph them safely. All I could think about was how to avoid what had befallen Steve Irwin -- "The Crocodile Hunter" of a TV program -- some time earlier.

As I was preoccupied with the search for the fish, a manta was moving toward me. My heart was pounding and I was overwhelmed with admiration, fear and the urge to take pictures. There was no way of withdrawing as the moment would mark my first underwater photos.

"It's the right time!," I thought, pressing the shutter release. The manta was drawing closer to me ...

The flap of its 3.5-meter wings prompted me to refrain from disturbing it and risk infuriating it. I finally
lowered the camera as it was even closer, with our eyes meeting and holding.

Moments later I saw its mouth open wide to suck in plankton. When it was only about 3 meters from me, it turned away.

"Alhamdulillah," were my words in praise of God while again photographing the manta before it swam even farther.

Night snorkeling

after dinner I intended to go fishing because I felt something missing in Papua without this activity. Moreover, I'm a sports-fishing buff myself and three of my friends would be diving to find bamboo sharks. But as it was forbidden to fish in the resort area, I was going to head for the open sea by hiring a fishing boat.

In fact, the area around the jetty was teeming with the fish the locals call Bobara (giant trevally), weighing 1-3 kg. "If only the Seribu Islands that could be like this," I thought, an impossible wish given Jakarta Bay is now virtually the septic tank of the capital city.

By starlight, I followed my three friends diving from the jetty to start a bamboo shark hunt. Though I previously thought that sharks were mostly ferocious, further tips indicated that this species was not aggressive, which encouraged me to join the search.

As I shone the flashlight around, my eyes got fixed on a light brown fish in desert soldiers' camouflage pattern. "It's a shark!"

It was unbelievable to have found this shark in such shallow waters.

Sadly, though, the fish began to move to the left and right quickly in a frightened manner. I kept calm so as not to make it panic even more. Yet the shark was now going farther away from me, which spurred me to chase it but it dodged very fast and disappeared into darkness as I got closer.

The sight of the bamboo shark failed to quench my desire to observe blue spotted rays. Earlier in the day, several of these rays were frequently seen roaming around the jetty. This was the ray species that had reportedly killed Steve Irwin.

And my Raja Ampat trip proved to be rewarding.

The one I was looking for moved toward me, perhaps attracted by my flashlight. But the ray finally paused at a distance of about 3 meters from me, leading to another two-way stare.

Despite my composure to avoid any disturbances that might cause panic, the ray withdrew after a while. So the shark and ray wound up my night snorkeling.

Badawi, 45, a sulfur miner at the crater -- better known as Kawah Ijen -- savored a cup of coffee at a food stall in Paltuding village, Bondowoso regency, before setting off to work. Beside his coffee cup stood a bottle of water from a well to drink on the 4-kilometer hike to collect sulfur from the crater. "People say the well water is toxic because of acid from the lake. But most residents, including myself, don't care about the effects of the water,as we have so far remained healthy," he told The Jakarta Post recently.

Badawi from Bulusan village, Kalipuro district, Banyuwangi regency, has lived in a sulfur workers camp in Paltuding for five years, together with hundreds of sulfur miners.Research conducted by Soegijapranata Catholic University, Semarang, Central Java, in 2007 showed that acid water in the crater lake had infiltrated and contaminated surrounding rivers and wells. As a result, local people were affected by tooth decay and bone degeneration, while agricultural production was reduced.

Apple sells 1 million iPhones in first 3 days

Apple Inc. said Monday it sold 1 million iPhones in the first three days its newest model was on the market.

"IPhone 3G had a stunning opening weekend," said Steve Jobs, Apple's chief executive, in a statement.

However, Jobs did not address widespread software problems that plagued the launch.

On Friday, Apple's servers buckled as buyers tried to activate new iPhones in stores, while owners of older iPhones and the iPod Touch were updating and reactivating their devices.

In stores, employees who couldn't get the new iPhones working sent shoppers home to try again on their own later. At the same time, owners of the older phones were left with unusable units.

Reports of activation snags subsided over the weekend, as Apple's systems apparently recovered, and buyers were able to activate their phones through their home computers. As of Monday, the issues appeared to have been resolved, said analyst Charles Golvin of Forrester Research.

Apple did not respond to calls or e-mails requesting more information about the activation glitches.

Apple had sold about 6 million units of the first-model iPhone since it launched in the U.S. a year ago. The company has set a goal of selling 10 million iPhones by the end of 2008.

When they find out it is a vintage mod skirt and almost 40 years old the wow factor only increases. Vintage clothes are not just old clothes but they represent a time and fashion (or fad) history.

If you want fun and funky clothes to wear vintage clothes from the 1960's and 1970's would be a great place to start. 60's clothes from the mod "invasion" were re-popularized in the Austin Powers movie and are known for bright colors, short hems and sharp lines. Later years brought more psychedelic colors and patterns along with more denim and leather. All the eras have a signature item of clothing be it the mini-skirt from the mid 1960's to the suede tasseled jacket of the late 1960's.

When shopping for vintage clothing look for the original labels. Examine the clothes closely for holes, stains, missing linings or any other wear that may have occurred over the years. SAVE species from extinction

With climate change increasingly threatening survival of plants and animals, scientists say it may become necessary to move some species to save them.

Called assisted colonization or assisted migration, the idea is to decide how severe the threat is to various species, and if they need help to deal with it.

"When I first brought up this idea some 10 years ago in conservation meetings, most people were horrified," said Camille Parmesan, a biology professor at the University of Texas.

"But now, as the reality of global warming sinks in, and species are already becoming endangered and even going extinct because of climate change, I'm seeing a new willingness in the conservation community to at least talk about the possibility of helping out species by moving them around," she said.

Parmesan discusses the idea in Friday's edition of the journal Science.

It is an idea that makes conservation biologists nervous.

There are plenty of risks in moving plants or animals to new locations. They may not survive, or they may become invasive, growing wildly without predators and crowding out natives of their new location.

And it is not possible to relocate every species that may need it, so how to decide which gets moved and which gets left behind to become extinct

Stanford University biologist Terry Root has been traveling thecolleagues to come up with a plan for "triage" to decide which species should be saved from global warming and which cannot be. After other biologists complained about the word "triage," Root said she now calls it prioritizing which species should be saved.

"We've got to work on the ones we have a prayer of saving," Root said.

grabbed the first spot in line and prepared to wait three days and one hour until Apple's much-hyped handset goes on sale Friday at 7 a.m.

A longtime Apple fan, he brought along his MacPro laptop and iPod, as well as a change of clothes, an umbrella, snacks and a folding chair. He even got permission to skip school.

Ten years after the TV show's debut, promiscuity and independence is replaced with monogamy and marriage in the newly released Sex and the City: The Movie.

Dr. Astrid Henry, gender and women's studies professor at Grinnell College, in Iowa, the United States, and author of the essay Orgasms and Empowerment: Sex and the City and Third-Wave Feminism, said the film was conservative, contrived and inconsistent with the TV series.

"I was bothered by the ending, which has all the women married, except for Samantha, who, at the end of the film, is 'old, fat and alone'. She's left in a sort of 'loser' role, even though she was always happy with her autonomy in the series. The ending of the film makes her seem much more pathetic than the show did," she said, adding the characters had all become more like the character Charlotte in their quests for marriage and monogamy.

Noted writer Ashley Sayeau said the characters had evolved and the transformation from bachelorette to bride was in line with what the characters wanted.

"As in the series, the film did a good job of showing each character come to terms with what she wanted out of her life -- not what society wanted for her, or what men wanted for her, or even her friends, but what she wanted. I loved that Sam became single again," she said.

"The show said to them, if you want to marry, great. If you don't, that's great too. The same goes with the decision to have children or choose a particular career."

In its time, the show received more praise from feminists than criticism.

Dr. Nicola Evans, a media and cultural studies lecturer at the University of Wollongong, Australia, said, "Sex and the City broke new ground in the rather conservative terrain of American sitcoms. It refused to worship at the altar of marriage and monogamy, daring to suggest there might be other objectives in life worth pursuing."

Sayeau said, "It was one of the only series in the last decade that showed independent women making money, having relationships and just existing on their own terms."

Henry said, "The show made people more aware of female sexuality and the idea that women are sexual beings with desires -- and that they have a right to talk about their desires in public."

The show impressed feminists around the world with its portrayal of women as intelligent sexual beings, but critics agree the TV series' socio-economic politics did not reflect most viewers.

The Australian government has invited Indonesians to apply for the 2008 Australian Development Scholarships (ADS) program, which will be commence in 2009-10.

Up to 300 scholarship are available, with half allocated to women and 30 percent to people from eastern Indonesia and Aceh.

Australian Ambassador to Indonesia Bill Farmer said the scholarships were an important opportunity for Indonesians to further their education and build networks in Australia.

"This academic and personal experience is invaluable and helps talented Indonesians make a difference on their return to Indonesia," Farmer said in a media release made available to The
Jakarta Post here on Tuesday.

The scholarships are managed by the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) and provide funding for study at Masters and Doctorate levels in Australia.

They are targeted to individuals who are committed to addressing development issues in sustainable growth and economic management; democracy, justice and good governance; investing in people, including in health and education; and safety and peace.

"The Australian Scholarships program is conducted in close partnership with the Indonesian Government. The impact of the program is visible through the thousands of ADS alumni who have returned to Indonesia and to contribute to this country in areas of development priority," Farmer said.

The program aims to improve the quality of human resources in Indonesia and the fields of study offered are annually reviewed based on the development needs of Indonesia.

ADS is a merit-based scholarship program available to people from the government and non-government sectors who hold an S1 degree.

Candidates are required to meet all eligibility criteria including Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 2.9 (on a scale of maximum 4.00), minimum IELTS 5.0 or TOEFL 500 (obtained in 2007 or 2008) and be no more than 42 years of age at the time of application.

A three-day leisurely driving excursion is enough time to explore the Coromandel by car. The roads are often winding and steep, a few are unpaved, and it is still unspoilt by tourist infrastructure.

Accommodation outside the few small towns is home-stay style, often in farmhouses. There are also some backpackers inns, and some high class lodges.

According to tribal narratives, New Zealand and also Coromandel were first discovered by the Polynesian sea-farer Kupe, and a group of his people, in approximately 950 AD.

It is said they landed at Whitianga on the Peninsula, and he named it Te Whitianga-a-kupe (The crossing place of Kupe). He left some of his people here and carried on with his explorations of this newfound land, to which his wife gave the name "Aotearoa" (The Land of the Long White Cloud).

It was re-discovered and claimed for England by the explorer Captain James Cook in 1769, during his circumnavigation and mapping of New Zealand. New Zealand had formerly been visited, but not claimed as territory, in 1642 and 1943 by the Dutchman Abel Tasman, who was in the employ of the Dutch East India Company and based in Batavia (Jakarta).

He was searching for the fabled Terra Australis Incognita. Aotearoa was soon referred to as New Zealand on European maps, after the second most important Chapter of the Dutch East India Company, which was located in Zeeland (Sea-Land), the island province in South Western Holland.

This is an historic part of this relatively young country. The first Europeans came to Coromandel in 1795 when the ship "Fancy" arrived to cut kauri spars (huge native trees) for the British Navy.

In 1820 "HMSS Coromandel" arrived, and the name was given to the town and to the Peninsular. In 1854 Charles Ring discovered gold near Coromandel Town and after negotiations with the local Maori land owners, a gold rush followed. There was also ship building, flax milling, collecting and trading of Kauri gum.

In the 1872-1975 period, the town had 22 hotels, now it has two. Coromandel Town still has quite a few surviving buildings from that period. The rest of the main street is reminiscent of a Hollywood set for a wild west town. Some of the old private residences are elegant Victorian and Edwardian styles, as some people found riches through gold.

Now, Coromandel Town has charming art and craft stores, old-fashioned shops, (hardware and drapery, etc) and excellent city standard restaurants and cafes.

This is a fishing port and consequently the seafood in the restaurants is of the best possible standard, in Coromandel Town and anywhere on the peninsula.

During the 60s and 70s, Coromandel attracted a wave of new residents -- artists and craft workers, including well-known potter, Barry Brickell, who came in 1961. His clay supply was up in the rugged native-bush covered hills beyond his workshop, so he began to build a narrow-guage railway to transport the clay.

One of the characteristic images of the Coromandel is blazing red flowering Pohutukawa trees, (the New Zealand Christmas bush) seen against the blue-green of the ocean, on a bright summer day.

These native trees grow in the sand dunes, or on cliffs, almost at the water's edge, and have gnarled and ancient curling trunks and often horizontal branches drooping into the sand dunes, which children just love to play in.

Driving north from Coromandel Town brings you to Colville, a tiny settlement with only a town store, cafe and petrol station, and the local 'tennis club' opposite.

This is a location which seems to belong in a movie -- the classic "one-horse" town. Nearby there is a Tibetan Buddhist Monastery, (Mahamudra Monastery) and it was an unexpected sight to see a saffron and burgundy clad monk clearing the rural letterbox at the roadside.

Beyond Colville, the road goes up the Western Coastline beside the Hauraki Gulf and comes to an end at Port Jackson facing to the north, where large Pohutukawa trees at the edge seem to wander across the dunes horizontally. There is a walking track across the rugged tip to the end of the road on the Eastern Coastline, but the two routes have not been joined.

Whitianga is one of the largest towns on the Coromandel Peninusla. Located on the eastern coast, it faces out into Mercury Bay, and was named by Captain Cook, who spent several days there while he observed the transit of Mercury, in 1769. Whitianga has a good boat harbor, and some excellent tourist accommodation, motels, and apartments. It's a popular holiday and fishing spot with the Kiwis.

The beach of Hahei has the interesting Cathedral Rock, where kayakers love to paddle through the tunnel in this rock formation, situated just offshore.

Hot Water Beach is also a unique place to visit. Visitors arrive with small shovels in their car boots. They set off along the beach to a clump of yellow colored rocks, and just in front of these at low tide, if you dig into the wet sand, you'll find hot water bubbling up to the surface.

Although the ocean waves are rolling up to the very spot, you can sit there in hot water pools. This is just one of the many manifestations of New Zealand's volcanic nature, which tourists flock to see.

This country has something in common with Indonesia, being situated on the join between two of the world's major tectonic plates. Consequently it also has many earthquakes and tremors, and there have been some destructive quakes and volcanic eruptions.

All of the Coromandel beachside towns have examples of the ubiquitous Kiwi "Bach". This is the traditional name for a weekend fishing shack or holiday house at the beach. Once they were very simple places, but in these prosperous times, many wealthy city people have built luxurious holiday homes in the Coromandel resort towns

2. Have the lowest possible "Advertiser Competition" rating.

Higher competition means higher cost.

3. Have a "Low" to "Average Search Volume" rating.

I usually recommend that people start out by looking for "Low Search Volume" keywords, particularly if this is your first campaign. Although you will not get a ton of clicks using this technique, it is a good way to get your feet wet and get some hands on experience as to how the program works. As you get more comfortable, you can add keywords with higher search volume.

The most important factor when starting your first Adwords campaign is this: Always set a maximum amount that you are willing to pay that is within your budget! Do not assume that because you have chosen low volume keywords, you will automatically get few clicks. Banner vs. Pop-Up

Pop-ups are often considered too annoying, and visitors won't stay long on sites that open many. Also, most web browsers have good pop-up blockers, so they might not work very well. Even though they pay better, I would suggest not using pop-ups on your website.

Image vs. Text

The same arguments apply here: some users, especially those with slow connections, consider image ads annoying. Those users may also block images, though it is not as common as pop-up blocking. On the other hand, image ads usually pay more. I believe it depends on your site content: if you only have text as your main site content, you should use text ads only; if you have a lot of images, image ads are fine.

CPC vs CPM

CPC ads have a price per click. So if you have a $0.20 CPC ad on your site, and 50 visitors click on the ad you will earn $10. CPM ads, on the other hand, have a set price per thousand impressions. So if you have a $0.50 CPM ad on your website, and you have 20,000 page loads you will earn $10 from that ad.

CPM ads will earn you money even if no-one clicks on them, but they often have quite low prices. However, you can use many of them on your site, and each page load will generate revenue from each of them. A highly targeted CPC ad, on the other hand, may get many more clicks, but having many on a single page does not help that much. I find that a combination of both works best for me, but it depends on your site, so you should experiment with both types.

Choosing the Ad Network

One of the simplest ad programs is Google's AdSense. It only takes a few moments to sign up, even less if you already have a Google account. Can the American dollar collapse to zero?
With the current policies in place, it is headed that way. This is one thing that you will never hear anyone from the general public talk about. I have yet to hear one person at all mention anything about this. But with the current policies we have in place, the dollar is and has been sliding. I’m not for the doom and gloom, and I hope that we can prosper as a nation, but it is hard to ignore the facts. It is very possible that we could all wake up one morning and find that the dollar collapse has been accomplished and the American dollar is worth less than the paper it is printed on.

So what has to happen for this to take place? Well, having our dollar dumped as the world’s reserve currency is a good start. How can that happen? Well, oil producing countries, international investors, and other countries that stockpile dollars in reserves will realize better opportunities with the Euro. Therefore, our dollar will not be valued anywhere in the world. This sets off a chain reaction, and the next thing you know, the cost of gasoline sky rockets so high, the economy comes to a complete halt. This is the type of thing that can happen overnight.

So then what happens? While all of us are living in another Great Depression, a big player (banking elite) steps in and offers prosperity on the condition that they can inject new money into our society to accept as currency. This new currency can come in the form of the Amero. Being that our economy has helped the Mexican and Canadian economies, they’d be going through a Depression as well. So they would have to accept the Amero into their societies also. So what do we have? A North American Union. Now the banking elites with all the gold can start making their own laws and financing their own politicians so they can extend their powers throughout the entire North American Union.

Most people in the general public wouldn’t hear of any of this talk, saying it’s conspiracy theory talk, but that’s because they don’t understand anything that’s going on. Their minds will not expand any further than what was falsely taught to them as children in school. They continue to be sheeple until it is too late, and even at that, they accept any explanation that is fed to them by the media or some puppet politician.

I don’t fully believe this, but it is feasible that our own Fed might be nothing more than a puppet of the banking cartel of London. They could be implementing policies dictated to them by the London banking cartel to devalue our currency, slowly, but surely. Then we’d be offered an escape route out of a Great Depression with an Amero currency. At that point, we’d lose our country and we would have open borders and new rules and laws to abide by.

What I have written about is a possibility. I hope and pray every day that we are actually being set up to prosper and that maybe our economy will take a new direction with new growth that will fatten up our securities and nest eggs. But with a currency that keeps falling further and further behind the Euro, it doesn’t look good. The rest of the world is catching up with us in technology and production, so very slowly they are heading towards becoming equal players in the game. On top of this, we have 38 million illegal aliens in the country using and abusing our healthcare and welfare systems, we have jobs flowing out of the country, billions flowing down to Mexico, and H1B’s flooding into the country to offer cheap inferior intellectual labor to "border-less" corporations which in turn eliminates job opportunities for American citizens one by one driving down wages.

Then again, as a colleague had once told me, the sooner society collapses, the soon we can rebuild it the way we want it. For that to happen, a new Government needs to be restored to the original government that created the Constitution and made it a Nation of the people and by the people. The key element to doing that is to not forgive any failures of our own Fed for a dollar collapse, and to re-establish our own currency to be produced by our own American Government.
